Who is responsible

The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

The short version

• You can read this site without giving me any personal data.
• The site sets no cookies and uses no advertising or tracking across sites.
• There is no sign-up or account on this site.
• If you use the contact form, I get your email address and message by email so I can reply.

Hosting

This site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you open a page, the server automatically processes technical data your browser sends: IP address, date and time, the page requested, referrer, browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure, working website). Vercel processes this data on my behalf under a data processing agreement. Transfers to the USA are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the EU standard contractual clauses.

Visitor statistics

I use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages are visited and where visitors come from, for example Instagram. It works without cookies and does not identify you personally: visits are counted with a short-lived anonymous value that is not stored on your device and is discarded within 24 hours.

Contact form

On the imprint page you can send me a message. The form collects your email address, your message and, if you give it, your name. They are sent to my email inbox (Google Ireland Limited, Gmail) through the email service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA, resend.com), which delivers the message to me and keeps a delivery log for a limited time.

I use the data only to answer you. Legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering enquiries, Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, or steps before entering into a contract, Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, if you ask about lessons. I delete the message once the conversation is finished, unless I have to keep it for tax or accounting reasons. Resend processes the data on my behalf under a data processing agreement; transfers to the USA are based on the EU standard contractual clauses.

Fonts

The fonts on this site are served from this site itself. Your browser does not connect to Google or any other font provider.

Light and dark mode

If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it. It never leaves your device, and you can delete it by clearing your browser data. Legal basis: § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG, since you explicitly asked for the setting.

Links to other platforms

The site links to Instagram, TikTok, Preply and Hataku but does not embed them. No data is sent to these platforms until you click a link. After that, their own privacy policies apply.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the data stored about you (Art. 15)
• have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16)
• have your data deleted (Art. 17) or its processing restricted (Art. 18)
• receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20)
• object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
• withdraw consent at any time, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3))
